Winchester Model 62 Salesman Sample Gallery Gun With Original Box – ITEM 1995

SOLD

Item Number 1995 Category

This Winchester was produced in 1958. The rifle’s serial number is 388447. This Rifle is a rare and seldom encountered Salesman Sample Gallery Gun!  It has the standard 23 inch gallery gun barrel chambered for the 22 Short cartridge. The bore is well used with clear rifle lands. This gun will still shoot great! The action shows much use and wear. The receiver has the Winchester Logo on the left side plate. The action locks up fine and works correctly. The sights on this gun are the sights that are installed on high power Winchester rifles such as the Model 64 lever action. These sights are actually much better than the standard issue sights for these rifles. The magazine tube has the correct speed loader slot for proper use of the speed loaders. The stock and pump handle have no cracks or wood damage. The original bluing would rate a 84% condition. There is no rust or improper wear on this rifle. The gun’s condition is what is most common to see on Salesman samples for gallery guns. They were hard used. The original box is correctly marked on the end label – Salesman sample – Winchester – Gallery 22 Short – Ser 388447. The box is in very nice condition. The corners are intact with no separation. The box shows handling but no damage. There is the instruction booklet for the Model 62 rifle as well as the 10 rules of gun safety included. To find a original salesman sample gun is a real find! To have the original box as well is is amazing! Being a Gallery Gun is a nice touch! Here is a very rare find that would be a highlight in any collection!
