Colt Single Action Army First Generation 45 Colt With Texas El Paso History ITEM 3180

Item Number 3080 Category

This Colt was Produced in 1911. The pistol’s serial number is 319140. This Colt has a 4 3/4 inch barrel chambered for the 45 Colt cartridge. This Pistol was shipped to Krakauer, Zork & Moye Company El Paso Texas, September 15th 1911. The purchaser was F.G.A. Hoeblla on February 26th 1912. I have been informed that this person was one of Pancho Villa’s purchasing agents in El Paso. I also have a photo of the original ledger from Krakauer Zork And Moye showing the original purchaser.  The Grips are marked J.H. Carson January 1912. These grips are correctly serial numbered to this pistol. Apparently when the grips were marked, this person remembered the date wrong when he Acquired this Colt. I purchased this Colt from Walt Smith who was a Phoenix Sheriff. He purchased this Colt in the 1960’s from this Mr. Carson. I bought this Colt from Mr. Smith in 2003. This Colt is in very fine shooting order. The cocks work correctly with no issues. The pistol locks up tight and the timing is very good. This pistol shows much use and wear. there is no abuse or alterations done on this Colt. The bore and chambers are in bright excellent condition. The grips show wear consistent with the rest of this pistol. The original bluing would rate a 42% or better condition. The color cased finish is faded in protected areas. The hammer shows more color case finish. This is a honest used Colt with interesting Texas history.
