Colt Model 1911 Civilian 1916 Production In Very Fine Original Condition ITEM 3555

Item Number 3555 Category

This Colt was produced in early 1916. The pistol’s serial number is C 34448. This Colt is the Standard Government Model 1911 with the 5 inch barrel. The bore is in very fine to almost new condition. This barrel is the correct unmarked civilian barrel. The barrel blue would rate a 98% or better condition. The ejection port top part of this barrel is correctly in the white. This Colt shows very little sign of being fired or used. The bolt face barely show a fire ring around the firing pin hole. There is no take down idiot line on the receiver. The slide and receiver both rate about 98% original bluing intact. The wood grips are in very fine condition. The only fault is that someone used a too large screwdriver to remove the grip screws. This is only noticeable on the right side grip panel bottom screw. The magazine is a correct civilian two tone magazine with the “U” staple on the floor plate. This magazine is in very fine condition. The action works fine with no issues. This Colt is a very fine example of a pre World War One production pistol! The bluing is really high quality with the fine polish work. The barrel shows very little use and wear. The correct magazine also adds to this gun’s appeal. This Colt deserves to be a highlight in any fine collection!
