This Colt was produced in 1980. It was the first year of production of the sheriffs model pistols. The pistol’s serial number is SA 41385. This Colt has two matching cylinders, one is fitted to shoot the 44 Special. The other cylinder is fitted to shoot the 44-40 Winchester cartridge. This pistol has the rare nickel plated finish. The display case is factory original for this pistol. There is also a key to lock the case. The letter that comes with this Colt states that this pistol came from the John Bianchi’s Frontier Museum In Temecula California. It was bought in 1985 by the Gene Autry Museum of Western Heritage. This pistol is in new unfired condition. There is no sign of being handled or cocked. This Colt has interesting history that will appeal to the serious collector as well as the pistol it self. This Colt will make a wonderful outstanding display for any collection!
