dou Code 1945 Date 98K Rifle In Like New Condition With Matching Numbers ITEM 3277

Item Number 3277 Category

This rifle was produced in 1945. The rifle’s serial number is 6351. The dou code stands for Waffenwerke Brunn Bystrica Czechoslovakia as the maker of this rifle. This rifle is chambered for the standard military German service round of 8 m/m Mauser. This rifle is all matched numbers. This rifle is not a duffle bag cut gun. This rifle shows no sign of being fired or being used. The bore is in minty condition. The bolt face shows no sign of being fired. This rifle has the correct late war production cuts to speed up production. There is no provision for a bayonet or cleaning rod. The two barrel bands are retained by screws rather than the barrel band spring. The stock is a laminated light colored wood stock. There is some crude shaping cuts as expected with this stock. The cupped steel butt plate is not fully polished as would be expected during this time of production. The original bluing would rate a 99% or better condition. This rifle is a really fine condition late war time production rifle! There were very few 1945 produced rifles that survive today! The war in Europe ended on May 8th 1945. Due to the difficulties in producing war materials at that time the production of completed rifles was very low.  Most of them were scrapped at the end of the war. The returning G.I.’s usually picked nice earlier rifles that were not crudely made for souvenirs. Here is a rare late production rifle in excellent condition for the serious Military collector to add to their Mauser collections!
