This Marlin Model 1893 was produced around 1906. The Model 1893 Marlin’s serial number is184961. This rifle has the half round barrel chambered to shoot the 32-40 W.C.F. cartridge. Marlin specially marked this barrel ‘For Black Powder”. The bore is in very fine bright condition. The sights appear to be the original sights for this rifle. This rifle also has the special order half round magazine. The original bluing would rate a 96% on the barrel and magazine. The receiver would rate a silvery patina. The action works just fine with no issues. The stock and forend have no damage or other issues. The wood is actually very nice with some light figuring. The wood retains the original finish. This is a very nice Marlin with some special features! Being marked ‘For Black Powder” is not commonly seen anymore. This rifle belongs in a fine collection!
