This Marlin was produced around 1914 to 1916. The rifle’s serial number is A 2040. It has the 20 inch octagonal barrel chambered for the 32 Winchester Special cartridge. The bore is in very fine bright condition. The sights are original to this rifle. The receiver and lever has the color cased finish. The original color cased finish is very strong on the right side of the receiver and lever. The left side of the receiver the color cased finish is very muted. This also includes the lever. The barrel and magazine tube has about 97% or better correct style old reblue intact. The action works correctly with no issues. The stock and forend have no cracks or other issues. The wood is in very nice original condition. The forend is the standard factory 8 3/4 inch forend. Many of these short rifles had the shorter forend installed. This rifle is not one of these shortened forends. This is a handy feeling rifle that would be fun to shoot!
