Springfield M1 Garand Pre Pearl Harbor Lend Lease Rifle In New Original Unissued Condition ITEM 3290

Item Number 3290 Category Tag

The Springfield’s barrel date is 8-1941. The rifle’s serial number is 327555. This Springfield appears to be in unfired condition. It has the British proof marks on the barrel from the lend lease program of World War 2 for Great Britain. This rifle has not been updated or altered. It still has all of the early parts including the pre lock bar sights. The bore is bright and minty looking. The original metal finish would rate a 97% condition. The stock and handguard is in new condition. The inspector stamp on the stock on the left side below the rear sight is SA GHS in a box. The stock also has the big Ordnance Wheel. GHS stands for Brig. Gen. Gilbert H. Stewart. He was the inspector at that time at Springfield Armory. this rifle also is equipped with the rare Model 1923 rifle sling that is dated 1942. This sling is in unissued condition. The trap door butt plate still have the original tools, brush and grease pot still in the stock compartments. This is a rare Springfield Garand that predates the Attack of our Naval bases at Pearl Harbor and our entering World War 2. It is really very difficult to find early M1 Garand’s that still have their original parts and accessories. finding one in this fine of condition is a real find!
