The original barrel blue would rate a 98% overall condition. The magazine tube would rate a 97% overall condition. The receiver blue would rate a 95% overall original finish. The action locks up tight and works smoothly. The shells feed properly with no problems. This shotgun shoots the 2 7/8 inch smokeless shells. Not the modern 10ga. Magnum ammunition! This gun has seen very light use. The underside of the magazine tube retains almost all of the factory bluing. This is one of the areas that you see much blue loss from handling. The stock and hand guard slabs retain all of the original wood finish. There is no damage or cracks with the wood stock and hand guard slabs. This is a very fine condition Model 1901 Shotgun that has been very well cared for! It is seldom that one of these models come up for sale in this fine of condition. This gun would certainly take pride of place in any collection!
