This Winchester was produced in the second year of production. The year was 1926. This rifle’s serial number is 4114. This Winchester Model 54 Rifle Is The Forerunner Of The famous Winchester Model 70! The 24 inch barrel is chambered to shoot the 30 Government 1906 {30-06] cartridge. This bore is in very fine bright condition with sharp lands. The sights are original to this rifle. This Winchester has never had a scope mounted on this rifle. There is no added screws on the frame or barrel. This rifle has not been updated or altered in any way. The barrel and receiver retain 98% of the original finish. The bolt would rate about 94% of the original finish. This bolt is also serial numbered to this rifle. The trigger guard and floor plate would rate about 78% or better of the original bluing. This rifle has the original butt plate intact. The stock has the original sling eyes still intact. The stock still has all of the original finish on the wood. There is no cracks or other wood damage to this stock. The checkering is in fine condition with fine points. The action works smoothly as expected. This rifle can be speed loaded with the government 5 round chargers that is used for the 1917 rifles and the 1903 Springfield rifles. I have taken this rifle to the range. This is one fine shooting rifle! Using the 5 round chargers really speed up the reloading! This is a very fine highly collectable rifle for the Winchester Collector! The very low serial number is also a big plus with this rifle!
