This Colt was produced in 1941. The pistol’s serial number is 729279. This pistol was inspected by Robert Sears. The frame is inspected in two places and so marked. This was the last year of the Blued Colts. The barrel is the correct barrel for this Colt. The bore is service used but would rate a 7 or better out of 10. The original bluing would rate a 94% or better condition. There is some light blue loss on the grip area and the high points of the pistol from holster use. The internal parts are original to this Colt in wear and use. The grips are the original grips for this pistol. The magazine is the correct two tone magazine. This magazine is in very fine condition. This Colt shows light service use and wear. The slide is snug to the frame and locks up tight. The slide is correctly serial numbered to the frame. The factory letter states that this Colt is blued and sent with 2500 other pistols To Springfield Armory on April 30th 1941. The holster is made by Warren Leather Goods with no date. This very fine condition holster came with this pistol and will stay with this gun. These Robert Sears inspected pistols with the original finish are rare today. Most of them went through a government rebuild program at some time or other during it’s service life. This Colt survived the war in it’s original as issued condition!
