Colt Model 1917 Revolver With Unusual Special Target Rear Sight ITEM 3001

This Colt was produced in 1919. The pistol’s serial number is 49460 for the butt Military Serial Number. The Colt Frame Serial number is 205805. This Colt has the standard 5 1/2 Inch barrel chambered for the 45 A.C.P. cartridge. This Colt Can shoot the 45 A.C.P. cartridge with or without the half moon clips. This pistol can also shoot the 45 Auto Rim cartridge.  The bore and chambers are in fine bright condition with sharp lands. The Front sight is the original standard blade sight The rear sight is an adjustable target sight. This rear sight is called a Wonder Sight. This sight has a knob to adjust for windage and a screw for elevation. This sight works great and is easy to see in poor lighting. This is the only alteration on this Colt. The original faded bluing would rate a 85% condition. The wooden grips are original to this pistol. These grips are in very fine original condition. The action works great with no issues. The frame locks up snug with no sloppiness.  The trigger pull is crisp and smooth. This is a very nice Model 1917 that would be a great shooting gun with accurate sights! The cartridges and half moon clips are for display only and not for sale.
