Inland Division Of General Motors M1 A1 Late Production Paratrooper Carbine ITEM 3230

Item Number 3230 Category

This Carbine was produced around November of 1944. The Carbine’s serial number is 6338889. This is a correct late Inland paratrooper carbine. All of the parts are Inland Division Of General Motors parts that are correct for this serial number range and time frame. The 18 inch Inland barrel is undated. The bore is bright with sharp lands. This carbine is chambered to shoot the 30 M1 carbine service round. The action works fine with no issues. The original finish on the carbine would rate a 96% overall condition The rear sight is the earlier milled adjustable sight. The wood pistol grip has the correct ordnance wheel  stamped on the right side of the grip just above the metal hinge plate. The folding stock locks up tight with no play. The leather cheek piece is intact with no issues. There is a old crack in the stock by the left cheek piece cut out. This is visible in one of my pictures. The stock appears to be sound. It seems to have been cracked during it’s service life. I felt it was best to leave it alone as it was part of this guns history. The wood retains its original finish. The sling and oiler are correct World War 2 issued items. The magazine is a correct Inland magazine. This M1A1 carbine is a honest service used carbine that is in it’s original condition.
