This Inland M1 Carbine’s barrel date is 8-44. This carbine’s serial number is 5474338. This carbine has the standard 18 inch barrel chambered to shoot the 30 M1 Carbine round. The bore is in bright fine condition with no issues. This carbine is not a rebuild or restored gun. All of the small parts and other parts are correct for this carbine for the serial number range and time frame. The barrel and receiver and most of all the parts retain almost all of the original military finish. The bolt is the correct latter style round blued bolt. This bolt retains about 60% of the original bluing. The rear sight is the correct stamped late style sight. The stock is the IO coded stock for Inland. This late style low wood stock has the large ordnance wheel stamped on the right side of this stock close to the sling cut out. The top hand guard has the late style four rivet handguard. This stock has no cracks or other damage to the wood. The sling is a 1944 dated sling with a correct IS oiler. The 15 round magazine is a Inland coded magazine. The carbine does show service use and wear. There is no sign of abuse or battle damage. This carbine is a honest used carbine that shows real character. These original condition carbines are really getting hard to find now! So many of them have been trough the rebuild programs, repair shops. lost in service, or otherwise altered from it’s original as issued condition. To find a carbine in it’s original as issue condition is a real find today! Here is one of the nicer ones that would be a great addition to any military collection!
