This M1 Carbine was produced about September of 1943. The carbine’s serial number is 1215704. This is a first block production carbine for Winchester. The barrel is undated and chambered for the 30 M1 Carbine cartridge. This carbine shows very light use and near unfired condition. The bore is minty and bright. All of the parts including the magazine are correctly coded for Winchester. The parts code and style are correct for this gun’s serial number range and time frame. This Winchester would rate a 97% overall condition. The trigger housing and internal parts are still in cosmoline. There is still traces of cosmoline on the outer parts and receiver. The flat bolt retains almost all of the original bluing. This Winchester never had the type 3 barrel band installed. It always had this type 1 barrel band. The rear sight is also original to this gun. The high wood oval cut stock has the correct G.H.D. W.R.A. without the box frame and ordnance wheel. This stock is in very fine original condition. There is some light handling marks by the stocks toe area. This stock retains all of the original finish. The sling and oiler are original World War 2 Issue. The oiler is also Winchester coded. This is a high quality collector grade M1 carbine for the serious collector! Box of ammunition is for display only and not for sale.
