This Winchester was produced around March of 1943. The carbine’s serial number is 1096621. This carbine is one of the first carbines to not have a barrel date on the barrel. The bore is minty and bright. This Winchester shows very little sign of service use or wear. All of the parts are correctly coded for the time frame and serial number range with a “W”. The oiler and magazine is also coded for Winchester. The bolt has almost all of the original bluing intact. It has the correct dog leg hammer for this carbine. The push button safety has the correct cross hatch checkering on the surface. The magazine release push button has the correct long smooth face. The rear sight is original to this carbine. The original military finish would rate a 97% overall condition. The stock has some very light dings in places. There is no cracks or wood damage to this stock and bull nose  hand guard. This stock and hand guard has the original wood finish intact. This is a exceptionally fine original  Winchester Carbine that has not been tampered with, rebuilt or restored. Original as issued M1 carbines are getting very difficult to find today. These guns saw much service from World War 2 to Viet Nam and beyond.  Being A Winchester adds to the allure of this fine highly collectable carbine.
